To coincide with the celebration of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcBloody Women’ at the Bird’s Eye View Festival, we look at women in horror<\/A> with articles on Ingrid Pitt<\/A>, Amber Heard<\/A>, Alien<\/I>‘s Ripley<\/A>, Halloween<\/I>‘s Laurie Strode<\/A> and emerging UK female horror directors<\/A>. Clouzot’s noir<\/I> masterpiece Les diaboliques<\/I><\/A> and intriguing Korean revenge tale Bedevilled<\/I><\/A> are on cinema screens. Filmmaker Jennifer Eiss wonders if women prefer psychological horror<\/A>, Jessica Fostekew explores horror from a comic perspective<\/A> and artist Lisa Gornick offers her take in a Comic Strip<\/A>. Our Reel Sounds column is on Delia Derbyshire’s score for The Legend of Hell House<\/I><\/A> while writer Sarah Pinborough<\/A> picks Ripley as her horror alter ego. In Short Cuts, we review Birds Eye View’s programme of horror shorts<\/A>.<\/p>\n
