Just by chance I bought 100 Road Movies about a month ago. I'm obsessive about Two Lane Blacktop and think it is the greatest movies ever made having owned it on VHS off the TV, limited edition American import in the metal case costing an arm and a leg and now the official UK release - which is a good transfer, in my opinion superior to the limited US release. After getting this book I immediately ordered Radio On on DVD which is strangely only available from America and hasn't arrived yet. I'm also a big Rudy Wurlitzer (and Monte Helman) fan. Candy Mountain in new to me. It looks like it is only available on VHS from Amazon.com. Also, I recently discovered that the engine noise of the car in Smokey And The Bandit is actually the Chevy 55 from Two Lane Blacktop! For me it brings a strange new dimension to watching Smokey And The Bandit, the car noise is so obviously the Chevy (once its pointed out) that if you're very familiar with Two Lane Blacktop you see that car in your head while you watch the film. Also, I've got the domain www.twolaneblacktop.co.uk if anyone wants to collaborate with building a site let me know.
