I think that I understood and have been impacted by Martyrs the way that Laugier wanted the audience to- and I thank him for that. Martyrs is a film that speaks to our modern world that is so selfish and oblivious of the pain of others, In a way, I understand the need for Modern martyrs- people who are willing to suffer for something that is above, or more than, we are, so that we can hope for something better.
