I LOVE RESONANCE FM

Electric Sheep is very proud to broadcast on Resonance 104.4 FM, a quite wonderful station with mind-expanding programmes that cover everything from Congolese rumba and Chinese reggae to art, film, comics, politics and philosophy. These are programmes that would not be broadcast anywhere else and Resonance is a unique and vital station. It is a charity organisation that relies on funding from the Arts Council as well as donations and they need your help!

Their annual on-air fund raiser runs from 5.30pm on Monday 13 February through St Valentine’s Day right up until midnight on Sunday 19 February. They’ll have an auction of unique and wondrous items, special live events, celebrity guests, spontaneous competitions and much more. If you love Resonance 104.4 FM and the Electric Sheep broadcasts, please support them via a donation, pledge, bequest, gift or purchase from their shop. All programme makers and engineers work for free but Resonance urgently needs funds for equipment, rent, licence fee etc. to continue its work.

Visit resonancefm.com to make a donation of any size. And do tune in for our programme on femmes fatales on Friday 17 at 5pm! Thanks!

We are very sorry to hear that the burning down of the PIAS/Sony warehouse in Enfield by rioting mobs last night has affected a number of small and independent UK film distributors, including Eureka, Dogwoof, Pecadillo, Terracotta, Third Window Films, Arrow Films, Warp, BFI and Artificial Eye, who have all lost stock in the fire. They each offer something that no one else offers and the work they do in making unique, original, forgotten and must-see films available to UK audiences is absolutely essential to the diversity of this country’s film culture. We hope that they’re all able to get through this and can continue the brilliant work that they do.

Recent films released by these distributors include Gregg Araki’s Totally Fucked Up! from Peccadillo Pictures (released yesterday), Bill Morrison and J&#243hann J&#243hannsson’s The Miners’ Hymns (BFI), Sh&#244hei Imamura’s Pigs and Battleships (Eureka), the Andrei Tarkosvky Collection (Artificial Eye), Tenebrae (Arrow Video), The Detective (Terracotta) and Cold Fish (Third Window Films).

Please show your support for all these distributors by buying their films from Amazon, Play and HMV, or digitally from sites such as Mubi, iTunes, Virgin, Film4OD. Third Window are releasing the excellent, award-winning Japanese drama Villain in UK cinemas on August 19, please support them by going to see the film.
