Other theatrical treats this month include <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2009\/08\/02\/mesrine\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>Mesrine<\/I><\/A>, a two-part epic about the charismatic criminal who terrorised France in the 70s, with a phenomenal Vincent Cassel in the title role. Germany offers its own take on the seductive gangster type with <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2009\/08\/02\/chiko\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>Chiko<\/I><\/A>, set in the Turkish community of Hamburg. <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/features\/2009\/08\/02\/sin-nombre-interview-with-cary-fukunaga\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>Sin Nombre<\/I><\/A> is a powerful drama that combines illegal immigrants and Mexican gangs \u00e2\u20ac\u201c read our <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/features\/2009\/08\/02\/sin-nombre-interview-with-cary-fukunaga\/\" class=\"link2\">interview with American director Cary Fukunaga<\/A> to find out more about the unusual and dangerous making of the film. <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/features\/2009\/08\/02\/beautiful-losers\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>Beautiful Losers<\/I><\/A> documents New York&#8217;s Alleged Gallery and the outsider artists such as Harmony Korine and Mike Mills who gravitated around it in the early 90s \u00e2\u20ac\u201c we have an interview with director and Alleged Gallery founder Aaron Rose. Finally, <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2009\/08\/02\/home\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>Home<\/I><\/A> is an intimate drama that looks at the coming apart of a family when a new motorway opens near their house. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copy\"><A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/features\/2009\/08\/07\/film4-frightfest-09-zombies-galore\/\" class=\"link2\">Film4 FrightFest<\/A> returns at the end of the month with a fantastic programme of chillers and shockers and we are particularly looking forward to <I>Triangle, Pontypool, Heartless<\/I> and <I>Black<\/I>. We are planning to attend assiduously and will report back in our September issue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copy\">In the DVD releases we look at two new films from Terracotta, the exuberantly macabre <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2009\/08\/02\/the-fox-family\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>The Fox Family<\/I><\/A> and the understated ensemble drama <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2009\/08\/02\/god-man-dog\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>God Man Dog<\/I><\/A> from Taiwan. We also take a look at Rolf de Heer&#8217;s infamous <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2009\/08\/02\/bad-boy-bubby\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>Bad Boy Bubby<\/I><\/A>, Paul Schrader&#8217;s <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2009\/08\/02\/mishima-a-life-in-four-chapters\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>Mishima<\/I><\/A> and Orson Welles&#8217;s <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2009\/08\/02\/the-stranger\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>The Stranger<\/I><\/A>.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"copy\">We have an interview with Baek Seung\u00e2\u20ac\u201cbin, director of the remarkable <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/features\/2009\/08\/02\/members-of-the-funeral-interview-with-baek-seung-bin\/\" class=\"link2\"><I>Members of the Funeral<\/I><\/A>, which impressed us at the Edinburgh Film Festival, although it is yet to secure a UK release.
