In between, the line-up is packed with oddities, thrills and freaks, and some fine visceral horror.   <\/p>\n<p>Our top picks this year include festival hit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/features\/2015\/12\/10\/the-forbidden-room-interview-with-guy-maddin-and-evan-johnson\/\"><i>The Forbidden Room<\/i><\/a>, the latest offering from Guy Maddin and Evan Johnson, who co-directed this busy, chaotic and occasionally perplexing nightmare in which plot, characters and locations constantly flow into one another enigmatically. We also highly recommend <b><i>Green Room<\/i><\/b>, Jeremy Saulnier\u2019s impressive follow-up to <a href=\" http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2014\/05\/02\/blue-ruin\/\"><i>Blue Ruin<\/i><\/a>, the dazzling 140-minute one-take-wonder <a href=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/features\/2016\/04\/01\/victoria-interview-with-sebastian-schipper\/\"><i>Victoria<\/i><\/a>, directed by German director Sebastian Schipper, and Eva Husson\u2019s striking first feature <a href=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2015\/10\/07\/bang-gang-a-modern-love-story\/\"><i>Bang Gang<\/i><\/a>, which premiered in Toronto last month.<\/p>\n<p>Other titles seen on the festival circuit include Robert Egger\u2019s underwhelming <a href=\" http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2015\/09\/30\/the-witch\/\"><i>The Witch<\/i><\/a>, Yorgos Lanthimos\u2019s bizarre first English-language film <a href=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2015\/05\/16\/the-lobster\/\"><i>The Lobster<\/i><\/a>, Alex van Warmerdam\u2019s twisted contract killer comedy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2015\/10\/09\/schneider-vs-bax\/\"><i>Schneider vs Bax<\/i><\/a> and Takashi Miike\u2019s new action fantasy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2015\/10\/24\/yakuza-apocalypse\/\"><i>Yakuza Apocalypse<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to Sion Sono\u2019s spaced-out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk\/reviews\/2015\/10\/22\/love-peace\/\"><i>Love &#038; Peace<\/i><\/a>, along with Ben Wheatley&#8217;s adaptation of J.G.
